Official Press Release Below:

After the success of last years “Side by Side Symphony” on the 25th August, the outstanding young musicians of Reddam House Umhlanga will this year join forces with 3 powerhouse ensembles in a massed orchestral spectacular that promises to be a feast for the senses.

The stage at the Robin and Robert Muir Auditorium will be packed to the brim with not only the Reddam House Senior Preparatory and College Orchestras and Choirs, but with KZN’s two premier youth ensembles – the KZN Youth Orchestra (fresh off their successful National Arts Festival tour), under the direction of Lyk Temmigh and the KZN Youth Wind Band (who recently performed at Carnegie Hall, New York), conducted by Reddam House Umhlanga’s newly appointed Director of Music, Russell Scott.

To add even more to this incredible sound, the Durban City Orchestra – Durban’s own community orchestra – will make its return to the Reddam stage alongside soloists from within the Reddam Music Department.

Classical and popular hits including “The Sound of Music”, “Hallelujah”, “This is me” and Lira’s “Something Inside So Strong” will ensure that there really is something for all musical tastes.

An event not to be missed! The Press Club will be open for refreshments.
