Highlighting Opera

After a very successful “Candle-Light Classics” concert in June earlier this year, the Durban City Orchestra returns to the Durban North Italian Club on the 2nd November with something different but no less unique.

Once again by the candlelight, the DCO will host two incredible singers in a program of popular arias and well known opera choruses – tenor Leendert de Jager and Durban based soprano Lauren Dasappa.

Conducted by DCO resident conductor Russell Guy Scott, audiences will be enchanted with music by Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, Bizet, Excerpts from Les Miserables and even a few Italian folk songs! Sing along to the Drinking Song from La Traviata, be moved by Nessun Dorma and feel the lilt of La Donna I Mobile just to name a few.

With both singers having considerable international experience, this promises to be a concert to delight all music lovers. Table seating and a cash bar are available so bring along your picnic baskets and enjoy an evening of exquisite music!
